GroPoint™ Air Solar
Wireless Connectivity for GroPoint™ Soil Moisture Sensors Using Solar Power
The GroPoint™ Air Solar solution allows agriculture operators to easily and cost effectively build a distributed soil moisture monitoring network using the patented GroPoint™ Profile sensor suite and integrated solar power. It increases the spatial resolution of data capture both vertically within the soil and horizontally across multiple locations, while enabling reliable, low maintenance operation in the field.
Applications:
- Smart Agriculture
- The GroPoint™ Air Solar solution integrates a GroPoint™ Profile multi-depth soil moisture sensor with a LoRaWAN radio transceiver, antenna, and integrated solar power system to provide a fully self-sustaining wireless soil moisture monitoring solution.
- A LoRaWAN network or gateway is required for GroPoint™ Air Solar endpoints to connect. Data collected from remote sensors is transmitted over the LoRaWAN network to a cloud-based platform that captures and displays soil moisture profile readings.
- A fixed measurement interval is set on the device and can be adjusted remotely over the network connection.
- The integrated solar panel continuously recharges the internal battery, enabling long-term, low-maintenance operation without the need for battery replacement or external power sources.
- The LoRa wireless technology used in GroPoint™ Air Solar enables ultra-long-range communication at low data rates, providing high interference immunity while minimizing power consumption.
